David Marlow is the founder of VLURU LLC. Dave is a nationally recognized leader in personal and corporate transformations. During his career, he led companywide transformations at 3 Fortune 500 companies serving in senior leadership and executive roles.  In addition to executive coaching and corporate transformation work, Dave is a highly sought-after speaker delivering keynotes at global business conferences such as AT&T’s B2BI Customer Conference, Fusion’s IT Conferences, and most recently Global OPEX2020.

Throughout a 30-year career, Dave has helped hundreds of people and businesses find fulfillment in their lives, careers, and products through his coaching, consulting, and mentoring. In the midst of his own career transition, he was able to put a name to the practice of helping people find their purpose, Ikigai (ee-key-guy). Dave has created a process and framework around Ikigai to help people and businesses uncover their purpose and to bring that purpose into their lives and the lives of those around them.

Dave received a degree in History from Chaminade University of Honolulu while serving on active duty in the United States Marine Corps and most recently was awarded Cornell University’s, Leading with Design Thinking certificate.

Dave and his wife Alicia live in Hartland, Wisconsin, and have three adult children.

When he is not sharing Ikigai, you can find Dave sipping a large espresso, out on the running trails training for a marathon or playing with his two beautiful grandchildren.

Dave's favourite quote is: All models are wrong but some are useful.

-George E.P. Box

The quote I shared about what I hope people say about me...

He was forceful and yet kind; caring but not compromising; fearsome but dependable. For me, he was the epitome of wholeness, bringing complementary opposites into a harmonious whole. As a friend, he was both unforgiving and empowering. He seemed merciless in making you confront your weaknesses, expecting and accepting nothing but the very best from his friends. While at the same time, he was equally tireless in promoting you as nothing but the very best.

As a mentor, he was challenging – and a challenge – and yet as a colleague you could count on him to be always there, rock-solid, when you needed him.

-Jamshid Gharajedaghi on his mentor Russell Ackoff
